Everest Base Camp with Gokyo

Everest Base Camp Trek via Gokyo Lakes offers us to observe the beautiful lakes in the Gokyo valley. Then after Cho Lo Pass will takes us to the wonderful valley known as Khumbu region with the warm welcome of beautiful mountain, freiendly sherpas, colorful monastery. From the view point of Gokyo Ri and Kala Patthar we will get golden chances to observe the world tallest Mountain View. Later on, we will have heart melting view of the Khumbu Icefall.

Trekking to the Everest Base Camp through the Gokyo Route will be quite challenging as well as we will create unforgettable moments with the stunning view of Mt. Cho Oyu, Everest, Makalu, Amadablam, Lhotse, Pumori. Not only the mountain we will get chance to visit the largest monastery called Tengboche situated in Khumbu region.

Day 11: Thangnak to Cho La pass (5367m/17604 ft) to Dzongla (15939 ft) : 7km. 7-8 hrs

Day 12: Dzongla to Lobuche (4940m/16207 ft): 6km, 2-3 hrs

Day 13: Lobuche to Gorak Shep (5,170m/16,961 ft), visit Everest Base Camp (5,364m/17,594ft): 13km, 6-7 hours

Day 14: GorakShep to Ka;a Patthar (5545m/18192ft) to Pherice (4288m/14070ft): 16km, 7-8 hours

Day 15: Periche to Nanche Bazzar: 20km, 6-7 hours

Day 16: Namche Bazzar to Lukla (2800m/9186ft), 6-7 hrs

Day 17: Fly to Kathmandu

Day 01: Arrival at Kathmandu (1350m/4428ft)

On arrival at the Tribhuwan International Airport in Kthmandu, our airport representative from Real Adventure Nepal will greet you. Then after we will transfer you to your hotel where we can take rest for while.

Day 02: Kathmandu Sightseeing and trek Preparation

After having morning breakfast, we will go for short Kathmandu Valley tour. In Kathmandu we will visit many more heritages places which are listed as UNESCO World Heritage. First we will visit Historic place( Durbar Square) and other temples built in different period by different kings. Likewise we will visit pilgrims sites of Hindu (Pashupatinath Temple).At last we will visit Swyambunath stupa which is also famous as Monkey temple and Bouddhanath Stupa. In afternoon time, our leader will check our necessary equipment and he/she will introduce with other fellow participants. Trip discussion will be held at Real Adventure Nepal Office.

Day 03: Fly to Lukla trek to Phakding (2651m/8700ft) 8km 3-4 hrs trek

Around 45 minute flight from Kathmandu will take us to Lukla, we will enjoy the scenic view of hillside surrounded by high mountains peaks. From Lukla our journey will start and we will meet tour other crew member of our trekking. After making final pack and arrangement we will start our trek which will have gradual descent about an one hour up to Cheplung village. From here we can see the glimpse of Mt. Khumbila (18900ft).  Continue Gradual descend up to Phakding.

Day 04: Phakding to Nmache Bazzar (3438m/ 11280 ft) 11 km 5-6 hrs

Day 04: Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,438m/11,280 ft): 11km, 5 - 6 hours

 Today our journey will start walking through beautiful pine forest and will follow the trail up to the Benkar. Further we will cross the suspension bridges over Dhudhkoshi River and we will pass through Jorsale village and walk along side of the Dudhkoshi and Bhotekoshi rivers. Then after a steep ascent take us to the Namchee Bazzar (heartland of Sherpa people). If condition of weather will be good then we will get chance to see the view of Mt. Everest and Mt. Lhotse after one hour trek.

 Day 05: Acclimatization Day - Namche Bazaar: (3,440m/11,284ft)

This day will be our rest day and we will have plenty of time to do something around the Namchee Bazzar. Namche Bazzar itself is the main tourist’s center place or tourist shopping place with all the required trekking and mountaineering clothing and equipment. It is also known as one of the centre place of the Khumbu region where there will be the availability of Government offices, ATM, Internet café, shops and many more. We will go for hiking up to Sagarmatha National Park and then we will savor the view of Mt. Everest, Thamserku, Kongde, Lhotse, Ama Dablam. In case we will be interested to have day hike then we will follow the trail up to Khumjung village (12401ft) a beautiful community of Sherpa People. Rest of the time we will may visit the Khumjung Hillary School; observe the Sherpa culture, and we can observe the wonderful environment.

Day 06: Namche Bazaar to PhortseThanga (3,680m/12,073ft): 6km, 5-6 hours

Today we will follow the gradual trail with few short up and down which will takes to the Dudhkoshi from where our tail will move towards north side. On the way there will be two ways to choose but our trekking leader will choose the best one which will be comfortable for us. Over there we will see Chorten on the ridge top at 3973m which will gradually follow descend from Mt. Khumbila (5761m).Then after we will visit Mohang, birthplace of Lama of Rongbuk Monastery of Tibet who is believed first introducer of Buddhism in Khumbu region. Our trail will follow descend steep to the Dudhkoshi River.

Overnight: Stay at Phortse Tanga, near the river.

Day 07: PhortseThanga to Machhermo (4,470m/ 14,663ft): 10km, 4-5 hours

We will start climbling uphill from Phortse Thanga to Machhermo and through dense rhododendron forest. Before reaching Tongba village, we will pass through a beautiful waterfall. Likewise again we will continue our trek passing through many village including Dhole, Labarma and Luza. We will found Chhorten right brfore the Luza village. Whole day our will journey will be walking alongside the Dudhkoshi River.

Day 08: Machhermo to Gokyo (4,800 m/15,744 ft): 7km, 4-5 hours

Today we will start our journey by climbing a ridge to see the beautiful view down to Kangtaiga and also up towards Cho Oyu (8153m). Continuing our trail we will passes through Phangkha and slowly our trail will descend to the river bank before climbing onto the terminal morainhe of the Ngazumpa Glacier on a steep trail. As the trail will follow the valley, it even out again and brings us past Long Ponga Lake at 4690m. Then we will reach second Lake called, TabocheTsho from where we can observe shimmering turquoise blue sheet of water sparkling in the sun

We begin today by climbing a ridge for an excellent view down the valley to Kangtaiga and also up towards Cho Oyu (8153 m). The valley now widens as the trail passes through Phangkha, where an avalanche in 1995 killed 40 people. We then descend to the riverbank before climbing onto the terminal moraine of the Ngazumpa Glacier on a steep trail. Upon crossing an iron bridge over a stream, the trail levels out as it follows the valley past the first lake, known as Longpongo, at 4690 m. At this juncture, we get a chance to observe lama footprints on a stone. At the sight of the second lake, TabocheTsho, we become mesmerized by the shimmering turquoise blue sheet of water sparkling in the sun. Little ahead of the second lake, we reach the third lake, the two linked by a surging stream. Gokyo village stands by the third lake and Cho-Oyu Mountain as a backdrop sets an amazing spectacular sight here. After lunch, we explore around the third lake, DudhPokhari.

Day 09: Gokyo Valley: Acclimatization Day- Optional Hike to 5th Lkae: 6-7 hours

This day, we will take some rest in the Gokyo Valley or we can go for hiking up to the 5th lake. We will climb Gokyo Ri, popular place for the stunning view of the mountains vista. After 3 km walk from Gokyo, we will reach fourth lake called Thonak Tsho. Likewise we will get chance to see the beautiful scenery of 5th lake called Ngozumba Tsho. From the viewpoint, which is situated at the edge of the 5th lake, we will get stunning views of Cho-Oyu, Gyachung kang, Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, and Makalu mountains. From here, we will see the Cho Oyu base camp. And we will get chance to see the biggest glacier of the world ( Ngozumba Glacier). At last we will return back to Gokyo.

Day 10: Gokyo to Thagnak (4750m/15580 ft): 4km, 4-5 hrs

In case we didn’t climb the Gokyo Ri in Day O9, then this day we will go for climbing to Gokyo Ri. Normally it will take 3 to 4 hours to reach our destination place. The scenery of Gokyo village side, on the edge of third lake will be overlooked by Chlatse and likewise board Nogzumpa Glacier will look magnificent. We will surround by many panoramic peaks including: KusumKanguru, Thamserku, Kangtega, Taboche, Cholatse, Makalu, Lhotse, Nuptse, Everest, Changtse, and Pumori. The sun rays over the Mt. Everest will look heart melting secen. We will be trekking be hiking through the longest glacier of Nepal called Ngazumpa glacier. Then after, we will move ahead to the Thangnak to explore nearby hills. Afternoon short hike  we will prepare for long hiking for tomorrow and elevation gain to come.

Day 11: Thangnak to Cho La pass (5367m/17604 ft) to Dzongla (15939 ft) : 7km. 7-8 hrs

Today, we will be on one of the longest and hardest day of our whole trip. Well this day will be more excited day then scary one. Though The Cho La pass is not itself difficult, but we need to be more careful since the path will be steppe, vertical and rock glazed by ice which will make trail slippery. The trail from Phedi climbs through a ravine and a rocky trail. To reach the top with decorate players flag; we will pass through the side of a frozen lake. The pyramidal Ama Dablam gather over a range of mountains on the south even as Cholatse peaks soars to the west and Lobuche in the east side and at last Baruntse rises acutely to the right. Befor, reaching the Dzongla village we have to pass though some crevasses. From Dzongla, we will see stunning view of peaks including: Cholatse, AmaDablam, Lobuche mountains.

Day 12: Dzongla to Lobuche (4940m/16207 ft): 6km, 2-3 hrs

Today we will have short trek in comparison of pervious day trekking and will be very easy hike to Lobuche. This day we can enjoy with the beautiful nature and we will have plenty of time for relaxation too. For the enjoyment of beautiful view of Lobuche peak we will climb down from Dzongla and will walk through grassy trail. Our trail will curves through the wide river bed before reaching Lobuche. At last, in the evening time we will prepare for our next long trek.

Day 13: Lobuche to Gorak Shep (5,170m/16,961 ft), visit Everest Base Camp (5,364m/17,594ft): 13km, 6-7 hours

Our trail will take us to Everest Base Camp through the vast GorakShep Lake. Following the straight trail we will move ahead and we will cross the Indian army mountaineers memorials. We will follow our lead Sherpa diligently and our walk will be quite difficult due to the thin air in the high altitude. Before reaching Everest Base Camp, we will pass though rocky dunes, moraine and Narrow River. After arrival at Everest Base Camp, over there we will see tents of mountaineers, especially in spring season. While walking on the way we will see the amazing view of many peaks including Mt. Nuptse, Khumbuste and Pumori. We will return back to the GorakShep.

If anyone of trekkers wish to continue to Kala Patthar on the same day then, you are requested to inform our trekking guide and he/she will coordinate accordingly to your provided information. Kala Patthar is also famous for the beautiful scenery of sun sets over the snow capped mountains.

Day 14: GorakShep to Ka;a Patthar (5545m/18192ft) to Pherice (4288m/14070ft): 16km, 7-8 hours

This morning we will wake up early in the morning to hike up to our final top destination along and temperature will cold (-10 to -14C). There will be the presence of chilly winds which are usually quite common thing. After reaching Kala Patthar we will get chance to see the 360 degree up close and stunning view of Mt. Everest. Over there, we can have some photographs to make the beautiful memory alive for forever. We will come back to Lobuche.

 Those participants who would like to visit the Everest Base Camp on the same day, and then we will have our breakfast early in the morning. Likewise we will start early hiking since it consume more time than hiking up to Kala Patthar. After returning to GorakShep, our both trekking group will have lunch together. In the afternoon time we will descent down to Pheriche village.

Day 15: Periche to Nanche Bazzar: 20km, 6-7 hours

Today we will continue our trek to downhill through rhododendron and juniper trees. Then our trail will cross the prayers flag and follow the Dudhkoshi gorge descending through pine forest. Likewise we will cross pheasant and mountain goats. Our trail will lead us to Sansa from where we can enjoy the stunning view of gaint peaks including AmaDablam, Thamseku and Nuptse mountains. Before reaching Nmachee Bazzar we will be passing through the winding trails.

Day 16: Namche Bazzar to Lukla (2800m/9186ft), 6-7 hrs

This day our trek will move downwards and then we will walk through the rocky terrain. We will cross the suspension bridge over the fast flowing Dudhkoshi, this will make our trail more natural. Upon reaching at Lukla, we will take rest and we will recall our past memories near the beautiful peaks.

Day 17: Fly to Kathmandu

In the morning time, we will take flight from Lukla to Kathmandu. After arrival at Kathmandu, we will be free to relax and also we can go for some shipping or sightseeing around the Kathmandu valley. For Kathmandu valley sightseeing our trekking leader will help us. In the evening time we will have a farewell dinner at on one of the finest Restaurant in Kathmandu for the successful completion of our journey.

Day 18: Final departure

This day will be our last day of adventurous trip in Nepal! Our airport representative of Real Adventure Nepal will drop you at Tribhuwan International Airport for your final departure (approximately before 3 hours.) Our all team will wish you a safe and nice journey ahead.
