Everest Base Camp Kalapathar Trek will offer the best opportunity to gain the Himalayan experience. Our trekking leader/guide will provide us a fine opportunity to visit Everest Base Camp, outstanding view point of Kalapathar (5550m) and other neighboring peaks including Nuptse, Pumori and many more.

This Everest Base Camp Kalapathar Trek of 16 days will start with a scenic view 35 minute from Kathmandu to Lukla (2780m) and over there, we will meet our porter. We will have enough time to explore the Himalayan wildlife animals, birds, flora and fauna. Wild animals like: Colorful Pheasant, rare Red panda, Snow leopard etc are the attraction for the visitors. Likewise, pine, juniper and birch trees are the common forests which are easily available in our trekking route as they look that they are welcoming us. This trek also help us to have a close observation of local people (the Sherpa) lifestyle, beliefs, custom and many more.  Monasteries will be available in most of the places in bottom part, which will make our spiritual soul, and the Flattering flags reps the paece of Himalayas.

 Health experts recommend that rest is must after a long and hard trek. Each day walk and the gain in altitude may make our body inactive, so we will have acclimatization as a rest day at the vibrant town of Namchee Bazzar, gateway to Khumjung. Likewise our next acclimatization place will be at Dingboche.

Day 01: Arrive at Kathmandu (1300m/4264ft)

Day 02: Full day sightseeing around the Kathmandu valley

Day 03: Fly to Lukla and trek to Phakding (2562m/8700ft) : 35minute airstrip and 3-4 hours

Day 04: Phakding- Namchee Bazzzar (3440m/11280ft): 5-6 hours

Day 05: Acclimatization Day- Namchee Bazzar (3440m/11284ft)

Day 06: Namchee Bazzar to Tengboche (3870m/12694ft): 5-6 hours

Day 07: Tengboche to Dingboche (4360m/14300ft): 5-6hours

Day 08: Acclimatization day in Dingboche

Day 09: Dingbocge to Lobuche (4940/16207ft): 4-5 hours

Day 10: Lobuche to Gorak shep (5160m/17000ft)- Everest Base Camp (5364m/17594ft): GorakShep,7-8hours

Day 11: Gorakshep to Kalapatthar (5545m/18192ft) to Pheriche (4280/14070ft): 7-8 hours

Day 12: Pheriche to Phortse (3750m/123000ft): 4-5 hours

Day 13: Phortse to Monjo (2800m/9200ft): 5 to 6 hours

Day 14: Monjo to Lukla (2800m/9200ft): 5-6 hours

Day 15: Lukla to Kathmandu by air (1300m/4264ft): 35 minute

Day 16: Final Departure

Day 01: Arrive at Kathmandu (1300m/4264ft)

Our airport representative from Real Adventure Nepal will be at Tribhuwan International Airport to receive you. He/ She will be displaying our Real Adventure Nepal board. Then you will be transferred to your selected hotel and you will be introduced with our trekking guide. In the evening time, we can visit nearby colorful market in Thamel.

Day 02: Full day sightseeing around the Kathmandu valley

After hearty breakfast, we will be ready for today’s sightseeing. Today we will visit some heritage sites including: Pashupatinath temple, Bouddhanath Stupa, Patan Durbar Square, Swayambunath Stupa, Kathmandu Durbar square. Firstly we will visit Pashupatinath temple which is known as one of the most significant Hindu temple. This temple is located on the banks of Bagmati River. Then after we will visit Bouddhanath stupa which was built in 5th century with four pairs of eyes of Lord Buddha to look after the people what they are doing. Old Durbar like Patan Durbar Square, Kathmandu Durbar reflects the ancient architecture of Nepalese. At last we will visit Syambunath stupa which famous for monkey temple too. This stupa is also known as 2000 years old legendary stupa on the hillock.

Day 03: Fly to Lukla and trek to Phakding (2562m/8700ft) : 35minute airstrip and 3-4 hours

Early in the morning we will take scenic flight about 35 minute from Kathmandu to Lukla.  After arrival at Lukla, we will be introduced with our porters and then we will descend downhill to the beautiful Sherpa settlement called Choplung. Ahead our trek will begin descending towards the Dudh Koshi River and our walk will be easy after passing through the small village called Ghat (2550m). After couple of walk we will be able to reach our final destination Phakding.

Day 04: Phakding- Namchee Bazzzar (3440m/11280ft): 5-6 hours

After having morning breakfast our trek will continue through a beautiful pine forest, crossing Dudh koshi River and other rivers many time on exiting suspension bridge via Sherpa village including Benkar, Chimoa, Monjo and Jorsole. After entering into the national park permit, from there we will get chance to observe the beautiful view of Mt. Thamserku (6618m). Descend and gradual walk will takes us to the suspension bridge over the Bhote Koshi River and Dudh Koshi River. Continuing our trail, we will be climbing steadily crossing the Tenzing Hillary suspension bridge. On the way the beautiful view of Mt. Everest right up next Nuptse. After three hours ascending, through the pine forest will takes us to our final destination called Namche Bazzar.

Day 05: Acclimatization Day- Namchee Bazzar (3440m/11284ft)

This day will be our rest day or acclimatization day of the trek. Many health experts have advices to take rest at least for one day after a long and hard trek. In the primary town of Everest or in Khumbu region, there is availability of government offices, ATMS, internet cafes, shops, finger licking restaurant and colorful market. Then after we will start our day trip, firstly we will visit Everest (Sagarmatha) National Park, from there we can visit the things related to the first Everest ascender. Likewise, while travelling in Himalayan area we will get chance to observe the Sherpa culture and also get chance to learn about different plants and animals life cycle which are only available in Himalayan region (especially in Everest Region). Ahead we will visit a large traditional village called Khumjung to observe the stunning view of  Thamserku, Khaantaiga, AmaDablam, Mt, Everest and many more. We will return back to the Namchee Bazzar.

Alternatives: We can trek to the north side of Namchee Bazzar to Thame, enroute to Ngangpa La (5 hours, go and back) to observe the heart melting view of Himalayas , which is not possible to see in Everest Base Camp route.

Day 06: Namchee Bazzar to Tengboche (3870m/12694ft): 5-6 hours

While heading towards the Tengboche from Nacmche Bazzar, we will have superb view of Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, AmaDablam and close up view of Thamserku, Khangtaiga. The trail leads uphill through the forested path,where we will see musk deer (a herd of Himalayan Thar) colorful pheasant (Danphe, National bird) and many more. Continuing the trail we will cross the suspension bridge over Dudh Koshi River. A steep climbing around two hours through the blue pines, juniper forest and rhododendron will takes us to our final destinational called Tengboche. This is one of the most beautiful place in the Himalaya Region and the first thing come to your eyes will be Big monastery or gumba which will be towering majestic beautiful peaks including AmaDablam, Nupte, Mt. Everest and many more peaks. Mostly in October/November month in the presence of full moon the colorful festival Mani Rimdu festival is celebrated masked dancing and Tibetan opera in the monastery courtyard.

Day 07: Tengboche to Dingboche (4360m/14300ft): 5-6hours

Today our pleasant walk and descend through a forest of juniper; rhododendron will take us to Deboche village along the stone steps and nun Monastery. After crossing the bridge over the Imja Khola path will be gradual up to the Pangboche  village with the great view of AmaDablam (most beautiful mountain in Everest region). Following the trail we will closer to the Imja River which is moderate up towards Imja Valley. Then after our trail will takes us to Dingboche, last settlement of Sherpa community with the beautiful terraced field enclosed by stone walks, protecting the crops of barley, buckwheat and potatoes from the cold winds and also for the grazing animals in those areas.

Day 08: Acclimatization day in Dingboche

This day is the rest day of the trek. Over there we can take full rest or if we are interested we can explore the surrounding areas. Normally we will have a day hiking around 4 to 5 hours aback Dingboche village up to Nangkartshang hill (5090m/16700ft). This will be the perfect place to acclimatize. Moving ahead we will have stunning views of beautiful peaks including AmaDablam, Lhotse, Imjatse peak (Island peak), Makalu as well as we will get chance to observe the beautiful scenery of valley. Our trek trail will be gradual, so we will feel the thin air as the altitude will gains slowly towards Chhukung.

In the afternoon we will retrace to Dingboche

Overnight: Night Stay at Dingboche

Day 09: Dingbocge to Lobuche (4940/16207ft): 4-5 hours

Today after having morning breakfast our trail will climb a ridge with the towering view of peak Tawache and Cholatse. Continuing our trek, it will passes through the Yak grazing to Dhukla (4620/15158ft) and our trail will cross the wooden bridge on roaring stream. The trek will be quite steeply, which will take about one hours up to gravely terminal moraine of the khumbu Glacier. Then after we will move to the left group of memorial to lost climber and Sherpas people, in Everest disaster (1996) person naming Scott Fischer was died. From there it will be prefect to see the stunning, heart melting view of Khumbutse (6623m), Lingtren (6697), Pumori (7145m) and Mahalangur Himal. We will continue our trek to the Lobuche an hour for overnight stop.

Day 10: Lobuche to Gorak shep (5160m/17000ft)- Everest Base Camp (5364m/17594ft): GorakShep,7-8hours

We will follow our trek by walking in a windy and rocky path and trail will offer us a wonderful view of beautiful peaks including Mt.  Pumori, Mahalangur, Lingtern, Khumbutse, Nuptse  and many more. Our trek will continue along side of Khumbu Glacier to Gorakshep. After check in to Hotel, we will have our have our lunch over there. In the evening time, our adventures will continue towards Everest Base Camp and to the fantastic view of Khumbu Icefall. Everest Base Camp is a lively with commotion during the high expedition season. We will come back to the Gorakshep for overnight.

Day 11: Gorakshep to Kalapatthar (5545m/18192ft) to Pheriche (4280/14070ft): 7-8 hours

This early in the morning, we will start climbing to the Kalapthar (5545m/18192 ft) which normally takes 2 hours. Over there we will get chance to see the first sun rays over the snow capped Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Nupse Ama Dablam, Pumori, Lingtren and many more. Stroll back to Gorekshep and we will walk fairly easy down to Pheriche for the overnight.

Overnight: Night stay at Periche

Day 12: Pheriche to Phortse (3750m/123000ft): 4-5 hours

After early breakfast, our trail descend the travel is quite easier and faster in pace. Following the trail we will pass through the large Sherpa settlement Pangboche. It is said that Pangboche monastery is regarded as one of the oldest monastery in Khumbu region. Further we will pass the Imja Khola, on the way we will get experience wildlife of site of musk deer, mountain goat (Himalayan Thar) and many more species of birds including colorful Pheasant (Danphe- Nepal National Bird). Exploring all these creatures, observing Sherpa culture we will follow Everest Highway route to Nmache Bazzar.

Overnight: Night stay at Phortse Gateway to Gokyo Lake.

Day 13: Phortse to Monjo (2800m/9200ft): 5 to 6 hours

Today our trail will take us to Everest Base Camp trek and Gokyo Lake trek, Sanasa. We will follow the trail round aside the hill to reach the Namche Bazzar. Then our trail will descend down to National Park check point to lower valley, Jorsalle. Then right turn will takes us to our next final destination of the day Monjo.

Day 14: Monjo to Lukla (2800m/9200ft): 5-6 hours

Walking down, we will cross the suspension bridge over the Dudh Koshi River and we will be retracting to Phakding. Further our trail will take us to Lukla, settlement of Sherpa community and again our trail will cross a suspension bridge above Thado Khola. Around 45min walk our trek will come to the end. In the evening we will re- confirm our air ticket to Katmandu.

Day 15: Lukla to Kathmandu by air (1300m/4264ft): 35 minute

Today we will take early morning flight around 35 minute from Lukla to Kathmandu. After arrival at Tribhuwan International Airport we will be transfer to your respective Hotel. In the afternoon time we will be free to explore the surrounding environment of hotel.

Day 16: Final Departure

Today our journey comes to the end. Our airport representative from Real Adventure will drop you at Tribhuwan Airport for the final departure. Further, we will be wishing you a good and nice journey ahead.

Note: Mostly in Himalayan Region, there occurs changeable of weather during a day. So, due to the uncertain changes in weather may delay for a few hours for flight or cancelled our flight from Lukla to Kathmandu. In the month of March to May or September to November, this type of problem doesn’t occur frequently, so for the alternative we need to plan for this possibility. As alternative we will advise you to add some couple of extra days after your trek before you take a flight back to your own destinations.
